In 2019, the original primary optics were revised. The testing system received new features, including a tray stacking system with up to ten trays per side and a DataMatrix code (DMC) for unique part identification.
An ABB robot removes the optics, scans the DMC, and places them on the rotary table. A preliminary assessment is made at this stage. In the next station, the optics undergo photometric testing. The results determine the sorting into OK trays or a NOK drawer.
I was responsible for:
- The development of the Windows application in LabVIEW for visualizing and storing measurement results
- The complete PLC programming, including height adjustment of the tray stacks
- The configuration of the DMC scanners for over 99% detection rate
- The setup of the light measurement station and the test programs
- The integration with the customer's ERP system
